Founder Letter
A word from the founder.
I grew up between continents and between languages - a child of Africa raised in rooms where my fullness was rarely named. I built Alafiani because the wellness I found in books, apps, and clinics rarely sounded like home.
Our people have always known how to tend the spirit - through rhythm, ritual, rest, and one another. Alafiani is not new. It's a remembering. A platform where the wisdom of our grandmothers meets the rigour of modern care.

Why Alafiani
"Alafiani" comes from a Yoruba root meaning wellness, soundness, peace in the body.
For too long, our healing has been outsourced. Our pain pathologised. Our cultural medicine dismissed as folklore. I wanted to build a place where a Lagos founder, a Brixton nurse, a Brooklyn teacher, a Joburg student, and an Accra grandmother could each be met - in their language, in their lineage, in their full humanity.
What you'll find here is gentle. It's also serious. Ayo, our AI companion, will never replace a real human in crisis - but she will sit with you on a Tuesday afternoon when the world is too loud and you need a place to put it down.
This is just the beginning. Thank you for being here.
